Today, November 18, we were notified that we had a staff member test positive for Covid-19. Through contract tracing, this impacted 4 additional staff members who will have to quarantine. There were no quarantine contacts with students. Unfortunately with this development, we will be moving to remote learning starting tomorrow, November 20, 2020, for K-8 students and will resume face to face learning on December 9. Our teachers and students are ready for this challenge. We all know that face-to-face learning is what is best for students, but we feel this is the correct move at this time for both students and staff. Again, this remote learning will take place until December 9th. Thank you!
Hot Spots will be set up at:
School Parking Lot
Caldwell Twp
Bloomfield Twp
Liberty Twp
Greenwood Twp
Rollins Church and Cedar Creek will be available in the near future.
Project Christmas information: We are so sad to have this kind of news in a world that needs good news. However, we feel we must cancel Project Christmas this year. It breaks our hearts and we know it is so for hundreds of people. This decision wasn't made lightly and we tried diligently to make it happen but with the increase of the virus happening at a rapid pace, we felt it was the appropriate thing to do. We pray that God will bless those who need help with another source of assistance this year. We trust God that we will be able to hold our event again next year.
Project Christmas is still taking calls through December 4 to assist people in Wexford and Missaukee counties that have found themselves in a tough place financially. If you, or someone you know, need a source of encouragement for Christmas, we would love to help. Wexford County residents may call 231-779-5205 or 231-468-3204 Mon-Fri / 9:30AM to 3:30 PM (office will be closed November 25-27) and Missaukee County residents may call 231-839-8816 Mon-Fri /10AM to 5 PM (closed November 26-27) Please have ready your social security numbers for everyone in the family, job supervisor names for those who have a job, and your DHHS case number IF you receive help from them. A screening process happens and if one qualifies, you will be invited to attend the event at the WEX in Cadillac on December 12. Because of COVID-19, there are new guidelines but we look forward to serving lots of families. If you would like more information on how to give or help, please use our website at www.projectchristmaswexmiss.org or send a donation to Project Christmas, PO Box 554, Cadillac MI 49601.

Message from Mr. Morrow: I wanted to provide you with an update regarding the Michigan Supreme Court ruling that was handed down Friday evening stating that Governor Whitmer did not have the authority to issue Executive Orders after April 30th. We are still unsure of the full impact this ruling has on our school in a variety of ways and are in constant contact with our legal team and other state organizations to give us the most accurate information regarding this ruling. With that in mind, we are continuing with our current board approved school opening plan that has been in place for school the last 6 weeks. So right now, school will continue on like it has been, until further notice. Thank you for your understanding as we try to get a full explanation of what this means for our school.
Virtual Students/ Parents: If you are thinking on coming back face to face please let the office know by this Friday. We will need to make schedules for you. Thank you
Reminder to everyone: School pictures are tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29th.
Virtual Students: You will need to go to the Lobby by the Ranger Room to have your pictures taken from 1:00-3:00.
Thank you student counsel for these adorable stress balls and Chromebook cleaner duo! The students love them. Plus, it’s a good year for everyone to practice having a little less stress and being a little more clean.
